Stellar/Dove Award Nominee Melinda Watts Tours UK/Europe (August 2011)

Stellar/Dove Award nominee Melinda Watts is set to take Europe by storm as she expands her ministry across international borders. Promoting her dynamic sound and vibrant vocals by performing at various events in both the UK and France, American singer Watts is in great anticipation of the opportunities on this side of the waters. The ‘Gospel Dream’ winner will also be taking time out to add the final touches to her up-coming album, recording inspirational tracks with renowned UK Gospel artists before its release early 2012.

Watts’ strong contemporary production showcases her bright and up-lifting sound perfectly. Taking the stage at ‘The West Gospel Tour’, Paris, 6-10 August,  ’Judah Fest’, Birmingham (UK), 9th-13^th August and ‘Bold & Unashamed’, Bradford on 12^th August, attendees can expect to be amazed as she soulfully combines the vocal range and agility of Yolanda Adams, the fiery energy of Mary Mary and the pastoral growl of ‘Gospel’s First Lady’, Shirley Caesar. It is evident how her gift has allowed her to share and continue to share in ministry with many Gospel artists such as Kim Burrell, Hezekiah Walker, John P. Kee, Richard Smallwood, CeCe Winans, Marvin Winans and Pastor Donnie McClurkin.

“I hope to share my faith and my salvation with people from other countries”, says Watts. “I believe they are truly sincere and appreciative to receive the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the form of Gospel music”.

Not just a singer; Watts is passionate about helping young women lead successful lives by being a positive influence. Joining together with recording artists and media personalities such as Beckah Shae, Karima Kibble and Neechy; Watts founded the ‘Dream Girlz Gathering’; a 3 day high-energy event which aims to constructively impact those who attend. Being an English teacher by profession has also helped her establish two foundations, ‘Project Sunday’ and ‘Heaven’s House for Girls’, both which help support troubled young girls and their families through mentoring and ministering in the community.
